Aerosols

‘. . . in meteorology, a cloud is an aerosol consisting of a visible mass of minute liquid droplets suspended in a planet’s atmosphere . . . ‘ [wikipedia]
Watercolour is absolutely the perfect artistic medium for tackling the effervescent quality of–ahem–aerosols.

It being a rather challenging subject, more paintings featuring clouds are about to be attempted, and the results posted here in days to come.
Yay! Aerosols!

I love the dramatic sky and the contrast between the sharp and the blurred trees. And of course the ravens. Well, actually, the whole picture. Would you mind if I tried to recreate the picture? Just for practice and just for myself. I’m afraid it will look horrible, but if not, I’d like to post it on my blog – of course I’d link to your site with the original. Would that be okay for you?

….Barry Comer, what I’d give to have your gift. Anyone walking into a gallery would, from across the room, point and say, ‘that’s a Comer’. There’s none like you, Barry.

Hi dearest ~
I’ve been enthralled by your recent sharings of the progression of the Sibelius Square Park watercolor. It is fascinating to ‘watch’ the progression of the work, how the artist lays out the project how the proportioning takes place, choices to be made re lighting, color . . . all of it.

The more I try watercolors, the more I admire, appreciate and learn from your work.
The medium seems “lightweight” in some respects, since the oil or acrylic are not being used.
Trust me, I am overwhelmed with your ability to master this medium and make it serve it’s master.
