Draw A Bird Day

January 8, 2016

THE INSPIRATION for posting today came from ‘Method Two Madness’ https://methodtwomadness.wordpress.com/2016/01/08/robins-draw-a-bird-day/ and . . . ‘Myr’s Bites’ https://myrsbytes.wordpress.com/2016/01/08/draw-a-bird-day-january/

LATELY the task has been one of writing — what is now termed ‘short fiction’, so the painting part of daily expression has (in keeping with today’s theme) taken flight.

ALSO, the New Year’s resolution is to clean out the storage room and attack every single drawer in the kitchen and finally rearrange in some sort of good order, the bedroom closet.

A productive 2016 to all who read this! ….your posts are always full of interest and creativity.

  3. Oo, thanks for the mention! Very glad I inspired you. Your chickadees and pine branches are wonderful :-). They remind me of the little cuties that visit my backyard. Sometimes there are 2 or 3 or 4. I commented a while ago but I think my comment disappeared. So here is a new comment!

  5. … good on you, Catherine Johnson! I’ve taken two carloads to the 2nd hand store and one to the recycling dump. Now I just have to be careful I don’t get rid of things I wish I’d kept!

  6. ….thank you Eileen! Yes, aren’t they cute?? The way they dart around and work so hard to break open a single seed, then dart in again. All the others are pigging out, and they just eat the way my mother said to (smile).

  7. ….thank you Charlie!! The beauty of a carport is, nothing can be stored except the vehicle and a snow shovel–so luckily I’m confined to the storage/furnace room for hair pulling. (smile) Thank you for visiting me.

  12. So very, very lovely!! I’m eager to read some of that fiction, too. (Apparently, in keeping with the theme of short, I’m leaving the briefest possible comment and hoping you can read so much more in it. :\)

  15. Aw, I posted here yesterday and WP took its mighty phaser gun to my comment. As much as I love your work, Lance, this one may be one of my very favorites. These chickadees are so beautifully rendered, and I’ve learned from experience that they aren’t as easy to even draw as they look, much less paint! I love this one. Looking forward to seeing more of your work again as you find time to post it. Happy 2016; I hope it shines for you, my friend. 💛

  16. Your birds are so lovely. Beautifully painted.
I’m in the process of decluttering my whole house. I read the book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo, now I’m happily obsessed with the project.😄

  21. …. you know of course Cynthia, that the biggest problem is when we go through these junk drawers we discover that we still want to hang onto most of it (smile) — but I am resolute this time.

  24. The chickadee is a real favorite around here, and you’ve certainly done them justice in this delightful painting.
I have a “junk drawer” where I keep (toss) everything I don’t know where to put, and I made a resolution to clean out my junk drawer. Then I began to discover that I had several junk drawers!
I am thrilled to hear that you have been writing, my friend….
