North American Robin (Turdus migratorius)

January 15, 2012 7:26 am

Pushing my cart into the supermarket yesterday I almost ran someone over.   I’d jerked my head around to make sure I was seeing correctly–there in the middle of the aisle was a big fat display of this year’s new vegetable and flower seeds!

I mean to tell you, it is -10C, and snowing out there right now like it’s just going to keep on all night, and they want me to start planting seeds?

So okay–in the spirit of all that, raise your glass.  Here’s to a touch of Spring . . .

  12. Yes yes yes. Actually, I’ve got some miniature delphiniums started and newly-germinated under lights in the furnace room. Soon I’ll start my favourite filler–Baby’s Breath (the annual–it makes more of a show than the perennial). What seeds do you go for, kim?

  14. I tried watercolor in grad school, it wasn’t my medium. Your paintings are beautiful and it’s obvious that watercolors are your medium.

  17. Hi,
Honestly some places amaze me. The other day I walked into a large supermarket to do the usual shopping, and what do I see, Easter eggs, and beside the Easter eggs, left over Christmas decorations for sale. The mind boggles. 😆
